Re: Illinois Farmer Sees Corn Monitor Hit 300

[ Edited ]

nox,  FWIW, 2010's final yield did not match the crop conditions reports when the final numbers were printed.    Good crop conditions and not so good yields.  This year, we have just the opposite crop conditions, but still high yield predictions.   It certainly is going to be an interesting few months going forward.

Now I would contend that it is just good marketing for markeye to post the "300" headline.  It produces replies, which produces traffic, which sells ads.  It is all about selling ads.  KISS.

From traveling a bunch of the state of Iowa this week, was surprised how few combines were running. We keep saying tomorrow, ground is wet and humidity is high, not the best combo for bean combining, but works if you putting in your own bin with fans.

Lots of still really green corn out there, we might be debating this crop size for a long, long time.

Well heck.........now everyone is expecting 300 bushel corn and when it comes in less than that, we can honestly say that our corn is making LESS than expected.
