No way on earth does this three inch corn polinate by july 10th.........  and we are sitting on the "hoke poke" line way south of most corn.  This is going to be a late late late crop in sw ks.

Awful late here also. Hopefully, typical fall winds hold off till Thanksgiving.

I would say 70% of the corn in area is below 8 leaf..  50% below 5 leaf...   We normally tassel at July 4 th  -----

This will be a mess in the fall

Sw did you guys cut back on maturity? Some 85-90 day going in here. Ours is in the four to five leaf stage.

We did some but still mostly in the 114-115 range....   We normally start out with 104 days and end with 116+ days to spread out harvest.....  This year kind of scares me because if the pattern doesnt change we might come out short on heat units and have a harvest that stalls at 20-22 moisture
