Indiana's crop: the good, the bad, the ugly, and the unplanted

BA - I think that Time will agree - ??  That in some spots - there is some very nice corn - then you have - what I would say is the North of 70 crops - these are the pics that Sandy put up around here - its either good or ---t ! I have never seen such uneven corn and beans - in my pictures - they were planted on race day ( May 29 ) there are some that was planted early and look pretty good -but really have to wonder if they are on borrowed time - SDS is coming and many other diseases  - Planes were up yesterday - there in the same boat as us - hard to fly with rain . lol

I have no idea were this crop will come in and niether do's NASS or USDA - I would say by maybe The Feb . report - I think it will take that long for them to figure out this mess .

Now the boys south of us has has a great year - then about 2 weeks ago - we missed the 4 to 5 inchs rains and they caught them - and they did again the other night - we really lucked out the night before - just south of me and to the west of me - 2 to 3 is very common - I was at the fert plant 18 miles south the other day - there crops have looked as good as any year - outstanding - boy they are with us now - water sitting everywhere . I have a custom job to do - right down the road from the plant  , in the past week - one 2.5 incher then another 3 the other night - then 3 tenths last night - calling for heavy rain this afternoon with wind .

This one is for the record books - thats for sure . The beans are what I'm most worried about - if they don't take off soon - s---t fire - I won't be able to get them in the head - lol  Corn - I think I will have some - pretty good , then I have a 75 that may be as bad as 2012 = 103 bpa - and thats no kidding .

Well better get over to Dads and drop the booms and put on the N bar and see if I can finish the plot out - btw that was not 4 rows left - but 4 rounds left -

This did not turn out very well - but this is a field of nice beans in the area - the main reason I took it was - wheel tracks - from the planter tractor - you may be able to see the difference in height of the beans - from the road -you can pick out every pass across this 80 .

Ken, I think you guys are going through worse than when we had our mess in 2013, because for us the rain did eventually end and the rest of the season bailed us out.

BA- You know how us farmers are - lol - Everyone thinks that one day it will quite and never rain again ! - yet it has not - I was watching the Weather Channel the other night - they gave there 90 day out look - this went to Oct. 16 or so - we were below temps and above rainfall -  Could get very interesting -

Ken said a mouthful when he said spoty. I live about 15-20 miles east of Ken and my stuff couldn't look any better. Like him we only work a day every other week but have never had the really heavy rain. Last weekend was the first time water ran out of my fields since planting. The hard part has been the wheat which we finished Wednesday or Thursday, forget which. Volume wise it is good wheat but it is in the bin and I have no idea about trest weight. A lot of it was sprouting and some even growing in the head. Finally was able to finish spraying beans. Feel very lucky and my thoughts and prayers are with you guys who didn't fair as well.As far as yields and impact on prices.......like I always tell my friends, when I help you you get me from the neck down, I have no idea what the impact will be in the end.

There are some awfully big bad "spots" down here in ripley co.  Corn looks great but  beans are really sick

I know that area pretty well Rawhide and I can imagine. My mother grew up in the Jefferson Proving ground.
