Re: Inflation
So, who do you want to tax? the wealthy?
If you do, they will leave, then, there goes all the philantropic organizations and big donations to needy causes.
I've been told a man can live a pretty easy life down in old Mexico along the coast with a mere $250,000.cash.
This country had better wake up before there is no one left but the old folks and complainers to tax..

Re: Inflation
You tax people that make money, no matter whether they are a thousandaire or a billionaire, We tax income and we should tax all of it. That would result in lower rates for everyone. However, if we allow you to shelter over half of your income in some incentivized investment, where will the funding come from of government? From people that don't make money?

Re: Inflation
I don't know why we complain about things we don't even understand - including taxes. Anyone who has good estate advice, and they better if they've built wealth, would know that estates should seldom pay any estate taxes.
Further, Buffet has a challenge out to the billionares. He will give them a $million if they can find anyone that works in their office that pays a lower rate of marginal taxes than they do. No one has taken him up on the offer. Warren says none in his office pays a lesser rate than he does.

Re: Inflation
How did a topic on land price inflation end up being another discussion on income taxes? But since we're there I will chime in. To you pro-taxers: I don't think the tax payer would be so anti-tax if he or she saw something good coming from the taxes they pay. Also, if I make a purchase to offset income taxes I am contributing to giving Joe lunch box a job. I didn't make the rules, only playing by the rules Congress made.

Re: Inflation
That dog don't hunt. If your buying equipment gives workers a job then so does that grocer or welder buying a new car or pickup. Should they be able to deduct them as well or are farmers and businessmen just special people.
That s why giving tax cuts to wealthy people is simply a joke based on the assumption that they are job creators. When in fact , most are not job creators but merely upper income folks that don't want to pay taxes. If we want t incentivize job creation then give an incentive to those that do create a job after the fact. Not a blanket tax cut to those that may or may not create a job.
I know I have invested quite a bit and never created one job. Not in the last couple of decades.

Re: Inflation
Kraft, I thought you had your farm custom farmed? I don't know about anyone else, but I'd call that at least one job created.
