I read on bloomberg news this morning that beans were climbing on worries over SA production.  Had to recheck markets----maybe Bunge agrees.----------Looks like wheat would like to lead the way.

Marketeye reports that beans in Brazil are up to $17.88/bu.

I feel so cheated and used @$14.19 local cash price.

I wonder if the producer in Brazil pays the freight to the port??

The only thing I will say is that Bunge has a strong present's in S.A. , They have many ,many  " feet on the ground " they Do have a pretty good clue as to what is going on down there .

The purpose of the poll is to get a feel as to what we would sell at , there thinking as of know -- is do we import beans from SA Or roll the dice and buy beans here -- which one will be the best ROI ?

Big business--- is about big business --- not about you or I .

Try an offer tomorrow on me of $17.88 + add in just 1/2 the freight/handling costs out of Brazil and I will deliver to Bunge West (Council Bluffs, Ia plant). Or any other place within 100 miles.

Ok here Hobby , i had to send out an e- mail to a good freind in the busines , but have some answers for yeah .

I asked if beans were really at17.80 down there , he said very wellcould be ,( Sorry Mike for questioning you )

BUT that price is for cash beans -- 17.80 is like 25 dollar beans here in the middle of the summer when NOBODY has any left to sell , he said they are out of beans , so to speak .

Now here's where it get's good --- the 17.80 would be about 2.00 to high for new crop -- So with that said , take 2 off and where does that put ya ? --- 15.80 and the poll starts at what ??/ 16 ? there you go !

Now to corn for you and sw , I asked about the corn from Brazil ----  at what 8.30 in the artical you posted ?

So we will use me or us here at M-Town , We use to ship almost all our corn to the S.E. chicken farms . So for toay at todays prices they would pay 30 over MTGBunge so that would be 7.90FOB then add 90 cents for rail ( 100 car unit ) --that would put you at 8.80 .

But due to fobbing and WX issues the S.A. offerss have dried up .

that SA farmer price had to be in the sub $7 area to sell for $8.30 in florida.  

Ecin,  My question is does indiana have 7.2 million bushels to ship to those areas?  (is the motivation price or supply?)

Either way---------------Its only November.

price greases the wheels,  i just wonder how much price, locks up the bearings. --------- that would define our marketing range.

I think there is a point where buyers go on vacation.  Saw an article yesterday where the administration had promised support to a company to keep producing at a loss(not an ag company).  Maybe we can judge the top potential as the price of corn when JR gets "the visit".  🙂

Not sure $15 corn gets bought in large enough volume to load a ship.

My best guess --- er -- answer sw would be both , them old boys down south had pretty good crops this year but that is mostly used up by now would be my guess . This problem started last year , we were short and has just got to be a even bigger problem as of now .

If you look at IN and the southern 2/3rds of Il . boy are we short corn ! 

i would look for more of them to come shopping here , as said they will be gearing up to ship beans in SA before long and Storage may be a problem down there , are they going to tie up bins at port for corn or beans ? I would guess beans go to the head of the line .

BTW  just wonder if  the dock workers in SA will go on strike again -- seems like after they start load out they are -- working to many hours and pay is to low ??  wonder where they got that idea ??? oh O -- LMAO

Also about 15 dollar corn ----- people have to eat , look at the foreign country's with hungury people -- civil unrest ! and  then what happened ? there leaders were overthown -- they don't wht to lose they job's , lol

Keep them fed and they will be happy -- worry about the cost latter .
