There was a certain presidential candidate that traded cattle futures for the first time in her life and made $100,000 (that was back when $100,000 was a lot of money) there`s a lot that crap goes on.   I think that`s why you see these candidates spending millions, even a billion for a job that pays $150,000 or $400,000. 

Except for the current president that I guarantee will be much poorer than he went in...oh I know, the "emoluments clause!!!" yeah right, a couple A-rabs staying at his hotel...woo-hoo watch him rake in the dough.

China wasn't a party to TPP.  In fact, TPP was conceived as a pushback against China's Belt & Road and their domination of the Asian economy.

All that's happened is that China has had three years headstart with their Belt & Road.  Now their up to sixty-some countries, even including Italy and Greece.
