Re: Just Kill'en' Time
Last pass in corn this year there were 6 or 8 rabbits by the time I got to the end. I truly expected there to be a hawk or two ready to swoop down and catch lunch, but didn't happen. Patrick

Re: Just Kill'en' Time
Neat!
Thanks for sharing.
One of the joys of farming is watching nature around us.
Now have an eagle or 2? around here.
Have only seen them sitting in a tree but neighbour said one swooped down on his field when he was spreading his chicken manure which contained a few chickens of course.
BTW I have a red tail at one of my farms that thinks tractor traffic is great for helping him/her find lunch.

Which habitat should we protect or destroy.
Lets relocate both species 🙂

Re: Just Kill'en' Time
Reminds me of that old saying about the 3 ways to create "original wealth".
Grow/harvest it, extract it from the earth or process it into something else.
All other occupations "feed" off these activities.

Re: Just Kill'en' Time
Thanks 2 - Yes I agree Nature is the bonus part to farming - One of the main reasons I had the camera - we have a Osprey hanging around - and really wanted to see that Bird - Last year in Dec. I seen my first 2 eagles here in Indiana - a Mature and a inmuture over on the river road . Boy that was something - seen them for a few days then they were gone - Dept of Nature Resoures here said that Nov. Dev. and the first part of Jan - is the best time to spot eagels here - as the leaves are gone off the tress that the eagels are headed south of us for winter .
BTW The Red Tail came right across the combine - he was pertty low and fast that's when he threw out the speed brakes and got the rabbit - I do have a photo of him on the ground - but with the stalks you can't hardly see him -OR her .
