Kazakhstan don't get no respect!
They are a Black Sea wheat growing country. They are out f the way and unless you watch Borat.
Last year they grew 30 MMT of grain. This year will probably less than 13 MMT. Usually have high quality milling wheat. Last time the Black Sea had a drought they supplied wheat to Russia. Not this time.

One million tns of wheat traded this weekend
That's on a global basis. Supposedly both Egypt and the Saudis are rushing to buy what's left of the Black Sea wheat before it gives out. Shipping is 1/2 of what it would cost to get US wheat, as a comparison. But as they say, "When it's gone - it's gone! So hurry in while we still have some"

I thought egypts last purchase looked that way. Not a matter of price as much as getting it while it is available. They didn't take a long time to think about or negotiate it.
