the real swamp problem is not just with the elected that peddle their influence for millions in charitable funds and untaxed private kickback $$$ so they can store their under the table funds in off shore banks and go home rich in a society that taxes at the 60% level for earnings within the US.  or even with political favors collected from our law enforcement high level government employees.  Or the favor of allowing their contributors to get rich selling in the US without paying taxes.

It can also lie with local federal employees in FSA offices that determine whether each individual farm deserves the MFP payment or not, by searching property records, banking records and determining whether those farms will be done in order or put to the bottom of the list, or a secondary review for their size of payment, or maybe even by who they might have voted for.   Or whether they support the programs of the picture on the wall, based on which party he or she might be part of.  

Or those up the line who can take up to a year to write the detailed regulations for a farm bill passed by a republican congress.  And delay payments until it fits into a payment limit imposed by an administration of the other party.  

IMO........ it is this type of internal scaming that creates far more of the swamp issue than any of the notable leaders who get rich off of the taxpayer.  Because in the long run, even if it is chinese payoff money, the taxpayer gets the bill.  If that doesn't concern the taxpayer, how much does farm payments concern them?

Ag.com is a good example of the problem.  They police the content by the same rules......... We, and I mean all of we, have allowed political favors to have a place in our every thought and action.  Politics influences who gets jobs, how they do their job, how they treat each other, and even distorts the concept of right and wrong.  When we take seriously leaders who say "there should never be rich americans"(billionaires) -- and government should be in the business of equalizing opportunity and outcome, then we know nothing of history, and are embracing those who will take it all away from whomever they see "in the way" of their "progress", for far less than fossil fuels.

Oil is still the driver of energy in the world.  Because so far we have developed nothing that has a hope of replacing it.  That is so obvious even the chinese can see it.  You have to be of the intelligence of Greta not to see it.  That is not a political issue, it is an economic reality.

W`re seeing in full display of the institutional, generational corruption that`s in politics and sports.   That one basketball guy takes the side of communist China against the freedom yearning Hong Kong citizens.  All because Nike makes cheap tennis shoes in China that basketball player endorses $$$$  I guess "don`t poop where you eat"?

And then CNN head honcho (many braindead people get their news from CNN and Stephen Colbert) the CNN dude was on video tape of aiding a coup against the POTUS ...and that clown is allowed to continue feeding "news" to the ignorant???  He ought to be locked up!

Then a former vice president and current presidential candidate used his political influence to get his "brilliant" kid a lucrative job in Ukraine and a pay off from China.  "News" sources, CNN among them say "Aw that was proven a hoax...move on folks nothin` to see!....Now about the impeachment of the current occupant of the White House...".

The institutional corruption in the swamp in Washington DC (the head of the monster) is epic and the swamp dwellers don`t want to give up their gravy train...or go to jail where they belong.  

These swamp dwellers, deep state use us and our markets as pawns, we are fodder to protect the bishops and knights who are better paid than those of us that check the overnight markets to project which bill on the kitchen table gets paid first. The "king & queen" on the chess board already own it all, so long as voters/pawns don`t vote the way they did in 2016.

We can either adapt gracefully to that or let nature do it her way.

Might also be worth doing it while there still is nature.

USGS has proven and probable US reserves at about 50bb- which is about 2 years' of global consumption (or 8-10 for the US if you prefer). No doubt more is available at a higher price.

The frack revolution is nice but all it is doing is filling in enough behind conventional oil to keep the price capped. And it has been a money pit. Fracked oil and gas should be viewed as a godsend transition bridge, not business as usual.

My son reads the same drivvle.  He tells me coal was stopped years ago.

I know where my elec. comes from --- very very little has changed.  The wind energy cant even produce without coal.  

Your statement cant be true until we develope a replacement for the source that still produces 80-85% of useable energy.

Wind is economically dead without federal tax incentives.

Misquoting data doesn't change anything.  US reserves do not need to supply global demand.  The slight of hand is not accurate or believable.

What we need is for an energy source to step forward and show it can work without borrowing from the taxpayer to subsidize and fill pockets......... after all how can we support clean energy in the US and work for the natural gas production in asia.  When politics is knee deep in a movement we have to ask ourselves why???????

We have to be able to believe what we see and figure the costs....   and know where the $$$ go.

"The Age of Oil is coming to an end."-----  there is absolutely no proof of that.  It is a slogan -- a sales pitch.... and it was used to sell electric cars in 1914.  The WW1 era electric car development was far superior to todays work.  They reached 38% of the automobiles on the road............View one of them that was owned and driven in Denver .... at the Eisenhauer Library in Abilene, Ks.   This picture is of the 1914 model in 1952... belonged and used by his mother in law.

the work done in elec in the last 10 years has accomplished very little in comparison.. still not affordable for mas production in the US.  And far from replacing internal combustion engines.

The fact that we present the farce of "the end of Oil is near" is just a hope.  It is all very interesting but stop asking the taxpayer to finance the pipe dream.  when we need to change we will do it.  And stop pushing the lie that oil use is killing nature.......... no proof of that other than highly "engineered" computer models with false assumptions.
