LP prices hit 11-year lows

So, I'm interested in whether anybody is locking in fall and winter LP supplies at these 11-year low price levels. It's crazy how low the market is right now.

Do you see LP as a big cost of your total operation? What percentage is it?

Thanks for sharing,

Mike

Re: LP prices hit 11-year lows

What price are you or anyone seeing just now?  A few weeks ago local co-op at $.99 a gal.

If corn goes to $5 and LP drops to $.90 I just might not crank up the corn stove this Fall and burn LP instead!!Smiley Surprised I would be glad to do just that.

Less than 8%.

Re: LP prices hit 11-year lows

Depending on the year ( corn moisture at harvest ) about 5% of cost to sell or store Lp never a huge issue unless corn is holding around 30% then about twice as much use. Definitely wouldn't lock in LP judging by are local corn there won't be much to dry this year to much of a yield loss from rain already. I sure hope someone has good corn out there in IL here we are definitely under 50% good to excellent. Corn up 1c today elevators already at -25 basis for fall. Down 15c at a time up 1c at a time just just another day on the grain market.

Those that own their own tank have filled up  "here" for .65 / gal.    500 gal min.

Re: LP prices hit 11-year lows

I burn corn in my shop , but evan at  One dollar lp and five dollar corn it still comes out about equal. Corn has five times the btus as lp  , most people dont believe that and think i am stupid but it is very efficient heat, and i pay no ss tax either.

Re: LP prices hit 11-year lows

In central Iowa, the quote was $1.00 cash and $1.20 for a CAP program. Anybody else seeing LP quotes similar or lower?

Thanks,

The cheapest that I heard was some Bigshots with their own bullet got it for 48¢..but they may have did their own trucking, not sure if it was delivered for that.
