Good news, I guess, is that odds are around 80% that Dems will recapture the House this Fall, which means the Freedom Caucus won't be holding up a Farm Bill any more.

They're likely to give us some Free Stuff if we can live with the indignity of Other Folks getting some too.

Even if the Legislative branch is unable to come to an agreement I guess now we have the precedent where the Executive can act unilaterally. I.e., The Stormy Daniels payoff may be followed by the Karen MacDougall Hush Fund.

The point was that there ain't no free stuff.  The extra irony is that if the dems do want to give you stuff, they'll be borrowing the money from the likes of China!!  

China's stock market is tanking because they know the US has the leverage here, if we are patient. Meanwhile, the Dow Industrials were up 184 points today and are within striking distance of a new record (usually the stock market drifts lower from May - October). Our market also knows we have the leverage.

China's been ripping everyone off (not just the US) via technology theft, coercive requirements for market access, and currency manipulation.  In the long run we are a lot better off if we tell China "You are a major economy now. You want fair unrestricted trade? Here are the rules.  Follow them and there's no problem at all. We'd love to trade with you. But not if you think a different set of rules applies to you."

Farm Folks got way too big for their britches when the gubmint tipped the table and the whole pot fell in their laps.

Now most think they are geniuses and that is a problem when combined with certain cultural affinities.

They totally screwed up with Trumpism- at least as far as their businesses go- but virtually all will go to their graves maintaining otherwise.

If anyone has a patriotic vision that's motivating them, then good for them- but as far as their businesses go, fergeddaboudit.
