The American farmer is getting lots of press coverage over the impacts of the trade war with China. Why in the world are the farm organizations not using this as leverage to get much needed changes for ag? This opportunity is being wasted and our check-off dollars.
"Never let a good crisis go to waste." Demand all vehicles sold in the U.S. be flex fuel. E15 permanent approval national wide. Bio-diesel. Get the story out that ethanol has no cancer risk, unlike petroleum (Benzene is the number one cause of cancer despite all the headlines over Round-up.) Low carb/keto diets are doing so much people's health, animal protein is a proven health benefit for so many in a nation that has an epidemic of diabetes and other auto-immune diseases draining our health care systems.
So many to add to that list. We don't need another corn/soybean magazine, we need action. Ag is showing it stupidity here. This is a great opportunity to get free press coverage.
The window may be small, with all the rain in the forecast prices will not stay at these levels long.
So do I read this correctly that there is a technology that actually does far better getting fuel mileage out of ethanol but it was steamrolled by those in power? And it would have also given so many the option of using E85.
Many people don't realize the great advantage in using E85 in conjunction with turbochargers. Using E85 in a naturally-aspirated engine has some advantages, but the benefits really stand out when using high boost pressures. The fact that E85 burns cooler and has an extremely high octane rating makes it a natural for the smaller, high efficiency engines used in today's cars.
