Re: Limit up Corn!!! Finally.
gio, so it makes one wonder how much of the prime real estate is still in water.
all i know is about 30-35 mil ac. in Midwest across IL, IA S MN, N MO, S WI, parts of N/SD have had way too much rain last 7,14,30-50 days.
when NASS starts doing condition reports, lost ac, re-plant, or no re-plant, and whats never gonna be planted information starts hitting the trade, will be more supported. that should begin this week.
whether i read it on the internet, my biology text or talking to farmers' of 40 years-doesn't matter...Fact is, while Corn's growing point is below ground (up to 3-4 weeks after planting), it can survive 2-4 days in flooded areas, will incur varying degrees of damage in saturated/not as flooded soils, etc.
