Mad soybean disease
Had not heard of this before but wonder what happens to markets if soys imported into the US introduce this disease to North America.
Spread by contact.
So if shortage of beans bring Brazil beans into US are checks in place or will the market notice if/when the disease appears?
• Mad soybean disease is spreading slowly through Brazil and prohibits soybeans from producing seed, causing crop losses of as much as 60 percent. It is spread by physical contact from infected plants. If it continues to move northward, it could reach the U.S. and devastate soybean crops.
