Re: More MAGA
Basis erosion may happen as harvest starts here In Iowa.
First load of new corn showed at the e plant today, 19% out of the field. basis erosion is expected as harvest ramps up.
Might want to do a basis contract for any corn bushels that need sold the next 60 days.

Re: More MAGA
k-289........many dry mill ethanol plants have added grinding capacity, and some have added drying capacity
which allows them to take higher moisture corn than they could when plants first built
also, when the amount of wet corn is a small percentage of inbound receipts, they can handle some higher moisture corn, too
I can remember the days when 16% was the cutoff line on wet corn.....things change

Re: More MAGA
That most likely was my brothers 105 day corn. They started harvesting monday hauling it west to the E-plant. It was hailed on first of June, then 6" rain event last of June, then very dry July and first half of Aug. Also, corn on corn. Yield was just a little south of 150. Later corn that missed the hail should be much better. Yes, the E-plants will take corn 20% or less, no dry charge, but will shrink it. My corn tested 20.6 yesterday. I'm going to wait.
I just got home yesterday from a 7 day trip to SE Pennsylvania. They are very wet there. Rain most of the 6 days we where there. Local farmers reported 6 to 9 inches with water all over the place. And the hurricane rains are yet to come. This is dairy country, some have their corn silage chopped and most are waiting for dry weather. Milk price is low, lots of concern there.
I saw only one soybean field partly harvested on the way home, (I-80) one seed corn field harvested, and two truck loads of ear seed corn. Those ears of seed corn looked large so there should be no shortage of seed corn for next year's planting. I'm voting for a 10% reduction in seed cost for next year.

U.S. INVITES CHINA TO TRADE TALKS AS TARIFFS LOOM
If it said talks failed, prices would fall like a rock, looking at the corn price now, down 3-6, guess it doesn't matter here.
"Asian shares advanced on Thursday on hopes that a deal could be struck in the bitter tariff dispute between the world’s two largest economies. In China, the yuan jumped and stocks rose."
Where is our rise???????
All the crooks with pieces of paper and no crops.
