Re: New maps
Well, it`s a dog-eat-dog world and i`m wearing MilkBone underwear. One day the enduser and producer will live in harmony, but that`s a long ways off when the lamb lies down with the lion. For 5 years us corn growers told the endusers "sucks to be you", I doubt they`ll have any sympathy for us...but by cracky 25 years from now during the next bull run in corn ...oh I`ll get `em then 🙂
What I`m still amazed at is how bad this crop looked, got off to a poor start and now looks good. Even those that call for a record national yield wouldn`t be hauled off to "Cherokee". It must be all the tiling done and everybody is overpowered..the tile gave `em that extra day and being overpowered got`r done in that extra day.
We have been what i`d call blessed and bailed out by bad weather the last few years and that really saved our bacon, hauling in less bushels for more dollars. This has been a crappy year, yet genetics and iron have a big crop coming, I`m concerned as what will happen if we actually would have a string of really good years in a row, we`d be buried in corn.
I haven`t forward sold anything and I`ll probably be taking 50¢ less for this new crop corn, some would say "you coulda locked in $4.95 a month ago but you had to wait for $5 didn`t ya?" yup that`s true, I coulda bought a winning PowerBall ticket last Friday too. 🙂

Re: New maps
Whoa up there just a dag nab minute.
I don't remember getting one penny more per bushel than the middleman or end user offered me for my corn, beans, or Milo.
They were in the driver's seat then and they are still firmly in control.
