New update on Brazil's logistics
Since today, the cost of diesel is going up in Brazil by five percent. This means that the transportation costs for soybeans should also increase two or three percent in the state of Mato Grosso. According to a study, for each US$ 1,000 spent on soybeans transportation, US$ 500 would be put to diesel.
The rises of costs for each farmer is about one percent on average. Growers usually spend 137.5 liters/acre in the region, says the Mato Grosso Federation of Agriculture.
