OUR 6:30PM FLIGHT LEFT JFK airport at 2:05am. They put on the plane at 10:15 and left us on it for 3 hrs and 45 minutes before take off.

No this was a non food flight segment. The morning flight out of Iceland had a good meal and no issues with the food I know about. Even had ice cream a little before landing an hr early. (no head wind).

there were storms in the area but Delta has a history of forgetting to send a plane for the passengers already at the gate.

Several years ago they just didn't send a plane for a load of people going to Hawaii from Omaha, I was there I know. At least we were put on an American flight and had to run through the airport to make it. Most of the passengers had to wait 8 to nine hrs for a ride.

On this trip not a lot of choices on airlines going and coming from Iceland. Our tickets were "KLM" but it was a Delta plane all the same.

It sounds like the rest of your trip was good, they just didn't want you telling people that travel is easy and stress free.

Would love to go back next summer and visit the farmer we met this trip.

We did not see near all there was to see but the wife took over 1400 picts. Thank God for digital cameras.

The video she shot at 12:20 AM (after midnight) of a bunch of teenagers in a small town on the East side of the island playing firehose soccer was priceless. (yes there was adult suppervision (I mean participation).

The next trip will be based from the north side of the island not the capital. The south east corner would also be a good base for someone like me that wants to see the place not just shop and spend the night in a bar.

I don't know if Icelandic Air still fly from Minn, but I flew direct to Iceland twice.  Nice to stay over on the way to Europe.
