Now, we're talking, Amy Klobuchar promises to immediately roll back ethanol exemptions.

Now you're talking, today on Agritalk Radio, Klobuchar promised to immediately roll back "all" small refinery ethanol exemptions if elected president.   Finally, somebody willing to buck Big Oil.

Meanwhile, ag economists studying the effect of trump's trade war on the farm economy say that it caused far more harm than any previous simple analysis showed, https://www.agriculture.com/news/business/trade-war-impact-on-ag-exports-was-greater-than-it-appears....

Gee, I could have told you that, and I did, remember.

Good for her, a simple, obvious concrete policy proposal.

Although I doubt how many "farmers" are going to be sitting in living rooms for Dem caucuses in this silly little Iowa Caucus thing.

Political bed's kinda made on the ag policy stuff.

If Klobuchar somehow miraculously (long shot at best) gets in, and TPTB let her live up to her promise, she may also want to find out why Cargill et al. are playing in Brazil's and Argentin's corn bins instead of America's.

"BRAZIL’S MAIN CORN EXPORTERS IN 2019 (in millions of tonnes)

Cargill……..6.08

Bunge……….5.79

Amaggi………4.15

ADM…………3.74

Dreyfus……..3.5

Gavilon……..3.36

Cofco……….3.36

Glencore…….2.70

Coamo……….1.3

Engelhart……1.1

Olam………..0.79

NovaAgri…….0.78

AFG Brasil…..0.6"

Agrex……….0.54

CHS…………0.38

CJ………….0.35

ALZ…………0.2"

Spoiler
Klobuchar?  Isn’t she a senator?  Thought she was supposed to be at the trial. Howed she get off duty to go on Agri talk?  And politicians don’t keep campaign promises anyway

I am still trying to figure out how Democrat Senators running for president are allowed to vote on whether to throw out their sitting-president opponent...???

Joe Public:  "Hey, Amy!  You're allowed to vote to have your opponent kicked out of the same office you are running for in November????"

Amy:  "Of course, Joe, we don't have to follow the same rules that you mere mortals do."

John Q. Public "Hey, Bernie!  You're allowed to vote to have your opponent kicked out of the same office you are running for in November????"

Bernie "Of course, Joe, communists don't have to follow the same rules that you capitalists do."

Jerry A. Public:  "Hey, Elizabeth!  You're allowed to vote to have your opponent kicked out of the same office you are running for in November????"

...you get the picture.

Those large grain companies have not done the U.S. farmer many favors.

My experience has been informed here and elsewhere- such as trying to engage in any conversation regarding either of the recent double secret Swamp Farm Bills that emerged out of closed door meetings of staffers and lobbyists and got rubber stamped.

Farmers are not much interested in the details, or even any fundamental underlying philosophy.

They are interested in grievances, either manufactured or real.
