Re: Ok Marketeye
Obvioulsly he meant $200 to $300 an acre not bushel. Even that seems unlikely but who knows. I think this market has a little left in it short term but come harvest which keep in mind will be early this year, it could get pretty ugly until Dec or Jan. There will be a lot of good corn and that is what they will trade for while after combines roll and they hear about your 300 bushel corn. Demand for corn is strong and will stay that way unless it does go to $5 or over which would cause demand to contract once again. We will need a national average of 165 to keep carryout from shrinking. I think this number is possible but not a sure thing. I also think it could be a little higher but too soon to tell. We will not see the LDP prices that you keep dreaming about for quite a while. What do you care what Market Eye says? You supposedly have all this corn marketed years in advance well over $5 so what difference would it make to you? You didn't get greedy and short the board while dreaming about your LDPs did you? Oh thats right. I forgot. You don't even farm.

Re: Ok Marketeye
hey 67 how you been????????????? we have a great crop here in NIA and from the sounds of it your crop might not be bad.Yes sure wouldn't surprise me to see some 300 bu corn coming from a few fields around the area.Let's see how big this crop is before we count out the LDP game.In our area there a $hit load of old corn sitting and yes not the best quality but it will be moved with the 10 crop.As to Marketeye I always enjoy reading his post but I think Friday him and boy's went out back and smoke a little to much.Market eye need to wake up and remember these so called broker/analyst are just another body taken up space and your $$$$$$$ on the floor. For many years I have thought these guy's(broker analyst) were in the know of the market and the best thing I have done is read and laugh at there B-S.I remember 08 to good and if I would have taken there (broker-analyst) advice I would have been spinning in my tracks as I did for many of my farming years. If these so call broker analyst were so smart why would they need your $$$$$ play ??????????????????????????????????

Re: Ok Marketers
4wd - If prices are $5 & $12 some analyst is going to be calling for $7 & $20. That will certainly be waiting for won't it? I'm not telling anybody not to wait but for my operation the prudent move is to make some very profitable sales at these levels.

Re: Ok Marketeye
north, congrats on another great crop.got the floor plan figured out with mrs north? one thing to keep in mind while deciding on cabinets is the guys mike quotes are a small part of all the players running the show we are watching. for now the bulls are winning and will until they cant. markets stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent( or sane as the case may be, not singleinng you out there). witness the wheat market, huge carries and horrible basis and it goes up every day. corn and beans wont stop until wheat does and there will be a lag effect of a week to a month for it to happen. there always quotes floating around from so and so in every market atmosphere. some start out outlandish and come true and some that start out outlandish and stay that way. the market is a giant opinion poll and when all the responses are tallied its called " the close". so sit back, crack a beer or two, chase mrs north and relax. dont let some random comments get your knickers in a knot. ps mrs d7 likes oak cabinets and she doesnt have them so you know where that puts me! lol

Re: Ok Marketers
Aaron, Aaron Aaron I keep 4-5 bulls on the farm atr all times. I feed the bull, scoop up the bull, care for the bull. But I always respect the bull. So just like on my farm you grain guys need to realize that this bull can kill. ANd I think this one won't be some mild mannered angus .. OH NO this is going to be a one ton holsein kept away from the ladies to long he is going to run hard and then uhm breed shall we say some one real hard.
In other words we aint got to the breeding phase yet we are just in to the run and snort and bellor phase.
Dad went to Omaha the past two days he said crop looks great all the way from Kossuth county on over the border. He said there were a couple problem fields but certainly no disaster. All year I have been less optimistic than him I think I am starting to turn to his way of thinking. ( dad gum I hate it when he's right which is like all the time).
Oh by the way a little story about bulls.
What is the difference between an old bull and an young bull?
There were two bulls laying up on a hill over looking the herd of cows.
Young bull hops up and eagerly says to old bull.
I think I'll go down there and breed me some cows.
And then snorts with anticipation. while prancing around the old bull.
Young bull then says with a tone of condesention what are you gonna do?
Old bull rolls his eyes gets up slowly streches ponders for a moment and says......
Wait for it.....
I am going down there and breed all those cows!
That my boys is the diffenece between an old bull and a young bull.
I think this market bull might just "breed" all of us.
Oh BTW your welcomre for the mental pic. JR
