On SoDak corn, ya gotta get to 150
b 4 ya talk a 160 to 162 state average.
South of I 90 is Fantastic...maybe never been better.
Even 30 miles N of I 90 is dam good,
THEN things run out of gas corn...whatever farther N.
keep in mind the N and NE carried the 150 SoDak avg Last year...S of I90 hurt some.
the N/NE this year go froze hard 2x and snowed on 1x....that is really not conducisive to record corn.
just sayin.
there's just a bare touch of some 300 bu corn S of 90....but only 85 to 140 bu corn N of 90. MO
we'll see.
Early frost is what's gonna knock things 10 to 40%...even in MN and a bunch of IA...MO

MW--why do you think there will be an early frost? Some will say you are just hoping for that one last possible chance for a rally. I will say it was awful cool here today for August. Highs in the 70s made for a beautiful day.

There is really nice corn in NE SD so IMO you don't know what you are talking about. I live in se ND and have driven thru the area. We also have a good crop coming even thou we have been dry lately. Most of it is in early dent so It will take a really early frost to take the yields down 40%

Re: On SoDak corn, ya gotta get to 150
last year NE Dak had great corn....this year it's more so so. nice corn but not great.
NE Dak in 2014 carried the high State average then. S of I 90 there was alot of corn only made maybe 150, btw.
this year it's different. S of I 90 there's record corn. ( so far ).
N of I 90 ( especially 20 miles N and Farther ) that corn got dinged a couple times by late frost after planting....

Re: bkadds. timing is due for an early frost,
Again ( been bout 20 years since everyone woke up end of Aug and it all smelled like silage ).
This is a true extreme el nino weather pattern now.
weather is pretty extreme cycles now times.
NW cornbelt will produce almost record corn and beans even if it does freeze early ( say end of Aug / 1st part of Sept ).
take 10% to 20% off a new high record...and you still might have a high record left.
we'll see. no one can predict the weather.
the bottoms are in on grains....look at these markets and they have with stood nothing but bad news for 6 to 8 months.
If they were going down more...they already would have.
the afore el nino will take out Most usa global grain competition over the winter.
Globe is bout 1 month away from famine.
The central bankers ain't figured it out yet.
soooo they cannot even afford a cheap slice of bread yet.
LOL...wonder how that's gonna work out for em?
