OptionEye....Commodity Classic Debate!

The time has come for our annual 'Beat the Expert" competition at the Commodity Classic Successful Farming/Agriculture.com booth in Tampa. Now, I am not an expert (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night ;-) but I will show you my cards and then you can show yours.

What we are looking for is for the closing price of Nov beans, Dec corn and July wheat futures at the end of business March 31st.

I am going for Dec corn to be at $6.25, Nov beans at $13.30 and July wheat at $8.50.....let 'er rip. What are you all thinking?

Re: OptionEye....Commodity Classic Debate!

Scott: Thanks for throwing down the gauntlet.  Since most of us probably won't be in Tampa this week, let's make the challenge a little more interesting for those here in the forum.

We can't call it a contest, but we'll reward one prediction in each category with some kind of nice little grab bag of Successful Farming merchandise.

Please have at it. Scott has put himself on the line, so it's only fair we give it a go, too.

Re: OptionEye....Commodity Classic Debate!

Scott......

I would agree with you on your corn #.......

But I would say that the beans will be on fire after the planting report...... I feel that they will be the step child on this acre thing as of today....... They will be down way to much and will try to pull corn acres back before planting time....... The beans may lose 1.5 to 2 mil acres to corn...... FWIW.......p-oed

Non Price ....... after report...... 15 to 17

Dec Corn........ 6 to 6.50

July Wheat...... no clue......:~)...... All weather......Demand will be stout......
