OptionEye Macro Outlook - Nov. 16th

Good morning.

 

A difficult day today as we remember those who lost their lives in Paris and the families that are affected.

 

Corn is unchanged this morning with beans down 1 and wheat down 3.

 

The stock market initially sold off but is now up for the day. The S&P future is up over 6 points this morning and the Dow future is up 30 points.

 

The 10 year yield sits at 2.25%.

 

The oil market is up .92 cents to $41.66 and the gold market is up by $7.47 to $1091.39.

 

The dollar is stronger still and over 99.00 at 99.06 up .06.

 

Today we get Empire Manufacturing as we reflect on the actions of last Friday.

Private exporters reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture the following activity:

  • Export sales of 1,440,180 metric tons of corn for delivery to Mexico. Of the total 952,500 metric tons for delivery during the 2015/2016 marketing year and 487,680 metric tons for delivery during the 2016/2017 marketing year; and
  • Export sales of 180,000 metric tons of soybeans for delivery to China during the 2015/2016 marketing year.
