Re: OptionEye - The Cow Guy - Feb 4th

Pointing fingers at either end is not an answer.

Wealth concentration is not good or bad ------ it is a fact, and has been for Centuries.  But it takes our eyes off folks who do not want to bear the burdon of good leadership.

Give me a break,  the 15% tax on investment appreciation or whatever type of income it is --- is not different for the rich than for the poor.

And 80 % of the population is not stupid or lazy by nature,  but do follow certain patterns of  socially "required" and "expected" behavior in order to gain "assistance".  And will loose that assistance if they do not follow those patterns.

Taxing the rich will never work ----------- They will just change their financial activity to reduce the taxable burdon.  They can afford to shut off the taxable income flow if they need to. ------- Problem is too many of us who talk about taxing the rich mean just "take it at gun point". ----- (maybe a clue to what is really wrong) --- (would that have been better understood if I had said get a lawyer and a jury of my peeeeers.)

As for the roads ---The rich don't need them,   The 80% do most of the wear and tear and don't pay much for it.  And the young and yet to be born are paying for the roads, which will be continuous potholes by then and they won't be able to afford a motion machine anyway.   just BS

--------------------------------------------

Lets discuss things that have changed and why. And ----Lets discuss Who doesn't have to answer for stupid leadership decisions by getting us to blame the rich or blame the poor.  We

A thing that has changed -------------- the "folks" can't get in or out of those groups as easily as they once did, by that I mean the "American way" of driving the roads from the rich class to the poor class and visa / versa, get from the poor class to the rich'

WHYYYYYYYYY??

Traditional methods to move up

education ---------- Serious mental talent and or desire to accomplish  (especially low income levels) long ago meant grants, scholarships, full rides, internships, and company or community sponsorship.  Now------ debt ---- very personal debt that a kid with a brain doesn't want.  And a poor kid can not afford.

---------------------Degrees that provided a real move into the "professional" ranks.  Complete with salaries that would care for a family and be a true step up from the economic level of the last generation with possible retirement benefits.   Now you get  a popular title and no guarantee of a job.

Starting a business, hanging out the shingle, providing a service, buy a truck or two, or a backhoe, publish information, etc.  --- Thats all it took at one time if you were agressive and talented.  Being poor just meant more desire to accomplish.  Now ---------- Small business has never had a greater failure rate.  There is a government agency to help you get the funding like SBA to start or buy an existing business if your poor, and many more to fine you out of existance for hundreds of thousands of reasons.  And a court system that will hold you liable for every turned ankle on your location.  Your liable because you are a responsible person (not honored and respected---your liable).

Enthusiasticly join the corporate workforce ------------- Become an important cog in one of the wheels that drive our economy.  Be a company man with advancement and retirement, helping the Brand succeed.  Growing and learning with it as your company helps the other businesses it buys and sells to grow and create jobs and supply the wants and needs of our citizens.         Now------- the Companies we respect most do not expect their production to last more than a few years and gives no hope of long term employment. In fact the leading companies are in business to find ways to eliminate the need for human labor.  They outsource their manufacturing to another country not just because the labor is cheaper, but because they think that other country will be a better market for their products in the future.  Business is truely international and more readily sees that the US economy is important to US citizens, but of lesser importance to them.  Even in agriculture,  business is looking internationally for its talent pool, and has for a while.  And lets face it --- we teach hatred for the corporate world on a daily basis.

--------------------------

This is just one simple set of examples.

Is your politician addressing  real issues??  Or is he helping you find someone to blame, like the smug rich or the smug poor?

Re: OptionEye - The Cow Guy - Feb 4th

Looking at the corporate world with rose colored glasses can be interesting as I have witnessed for 3 decades---being extremely firm or border line ruthless or exit ---  some folks found out the hard way after attempting to play softball asked how can you stand the pressure of knowing if you the next on the reorganization chopping block ---corperatization of the health care employees is under way with the wave of 4 year degree vice- presidents diluting out the personal touch in favor of bottom line profits that implode two fiscal quarters later on the calendar when costly out sourcing sets in ---Setting in on corperate board meetings can be real interesting ---

I often wonder if the leadership that pushed those free trade agreements in the 90's ever asked themselves "What's the down side?"
