OptionEye - The Cow Guy - March 19th
Good morning.
As the world turns....we watch Vlad slowly accumulate property while Neville Chamberlain stands by watching....
And the markets loved the comments Vlad made about Crimea and only Crimea. Watch this space.
Corn down 2, wheat down 3 and the star performer overnight - beans, up 16. Mostly based on news stories of tightening US supplies, exports and China consumption.
The 10 year stuck at 2.674%. Gold down $9.81 at $1345.91. Oil slightly lower after being up yesterday trading at $99.60 down .10 cents.
Stocks will be a little higher as we wait for Janet Yellen's comments later on this afternoon. Yesterday we had inflation figures showing that we don't really have any inflation. I am sure we all would love to take the government to task on that as food inflation and energy inflation are hurting us daily.
The story of the day will be the FED.

You really miss that blovating George don't you?
Nothing like threatening a fellow super power to see if he will wilt at your command. You want to volunteer your son or daughter for an excursion into the Crimea?
We aren't the only ones on the block that are packing iron and our ability to intimidate Putin and Russia is severely limited. Sounds like another tea bagger want to send other peoples kids to fight your macho wars.

You can't go after 'W's example on this one. He did exactly nothing when Russia took parts of Georgia.
There were reasons for this.

Nobody with any brains will start a shooting war in Russia's front yard.
This "game" will be played out behind the scenes in the financial world where no prisoners are taken.
Unfortunately the last 14 years of stupid fiscal management has weakened the West's leverage in that area as well.
Putin's hand isn't as strong as he makes it look but he will push until it is in his best interest to stop.
With NATO allies just to his west and south the trip wires are not far away.

Re: OptionEye - The Cow Guy - March 19th
I would prefer our leader be someone that has been through a war and actually knows firsthand of the consequences of that action and not carreer politicians making that determination. I know some military leaders would shoot first and ask second, but there are good ones. I would take a Norman Schwartzkopf type any day, since passing away at 78 years, he is not an option, but might have been too honest to be a President for our country in this day and age. I do not consider the last 3 to be the most honest men, Presidents, I am talking. It seems to be more for their glory and not our countries.
