Re: Organic Grains price report for August 20th

FYI, these prices are based on average price paid by several consistent buyers. All prices are fob farm.

USDA AND CONGRESS is thinking of importing apples from China ?  Interesting ploy by the 17% approved bunch in Washington and I'm sure they would at least be all natural if not cert. organic ?

Havent followed that story.

It is certainly a sellers market for Organic apples though.  Washington State has several thousand acres of Organic apples and they have no problem getting top dollar.  Better plant apples!

I don't worry about feeding the world.  I just hope I make the world a better place one farm at a time.

Re: Organic Grains price report for August 20th

Now, now guys..my point is if you get more for your crops, the end user knows who you are and cares whether you exist, your input costs are bought more locally ... then the world is better off with more stable farm income and stronger local economies. The reduced use of systemic chemicals as the organic sector grows is just a secondary bonus. Didn't mean to blame you for the worlds problems. I am doing what I know how to do to prevent the entire country from becoming paved in asphalt. I'd like to do it without government money. Keeping farmers profitable is the first order of business.
