Personal observation NC Iowa crops--Mine
Last week i had other interests that demanded my personal attention in Iowa. The corn is a 95 day variety and is close to harvest. Lots of small ears and well dented. Didn't take a moisture or yield check but I expect in the area of 150 bus.
Soybeans look better. The plants are short but well podded and the pods are well filled. I will be disappointed with less than 50 bu per acre. but we might better that.
Most soybeans up there looked 3 weeks away from harvest but maybe some will come on sooner. My early corn may be harvested sooner. Not much different in maturity between first planted corn and that planted three weeks later.

Re: Personal observation NC Iowa crops--Mine
Yes we have raised 200 bu on occasion but perhaps 200 bushel is not the new norm but actually 180 is more realistic. But then perhaps I am limited only by my managment skills or lack thereof.
