Perspective planting acres predictions for 2015
Ok, so I just read that Informa and others are already putting out their predictions for 2015. Really? Come on man! The markets have a little upwards momentum and here these folks are, waiting in the wings with their wild predictons.

Re: Perspective planting acres predictions for 2015
I wonder if this happens because they don't want us to spend too much time evaluating their previous predictions as compared to a real harvest.
Seems to me the Record production discussion of 2014 dried up with the passing of combines.
I still want to here someone state it as "Wow, once again in 2015 we are going to need near record crops to meet our demand.

Re: Perspective planting acres predictions for 2015
This very question leads to another question. Do very few make cropping plans based on what is best for the soil or the long range outlook of their operations? Or is it mainly what will make me the most money this coming year.
2015 cropping plans should reach much further than the fall season of 2015.

The amount of $ available to pit it in, the amount expected over expenses
Here in much of the I States some of the things that you mentioned are fringe production area things.

Actually, not even sure how to get rid of milo around here, elevator's don't take it anymore. Last year, local elevator didn't even take in wheat.

Maybe, but locally for me it's paying a premium at least for 2014.

perdiction folks are assuming the BR weather is going to be really good this season too.
whole deal is weather forecasting anyway....the more things change the more supposed need for an updated forecast LOL.

Re: Perspective planting acres predictions for 2015, Evidently the
Corn prices haven't fallen off a cliff yet. 4.46 corn for June, pretty hard to sell anything now with that kind of carry.
