Re: Poll: Rate your area's corn crop

The difference between how farmers rate local crops and what the USDA reports is striking.  No wonder we can't market - we don't agree on what is in the field.  Put another way, are we marketing based on how we answered this poll or based on what USDA reports every week?

If we knew the true answer to that we could make a killing sitting in front of the puter in air conditioned comfort.

Irrigated corn excellent on well drained soils, with yellowed corn in the wet spots.

Dryland corn good, but after 1 or 2 more days of this hot dry weather & yield will start dropping fast.

Well, most will probably fall between 0 and 65, and I dont know if I can get any narrower, normal average yeild would be 120-130 so I would vote poor here.

Surveys like this don't tell us much. If the responses could be broken out by state it could make more sense.
