Re: Praise the Lord! (and Congress)

Yes,  the direct payments are cut.

Now,  thinking about what we should charge the govt. if they want us to report our crops?    Maybe they no longer care since the USDA reports are losing their credability anyhow.   No dcp,  why bother reporting?  Information has value.

No interest in the crop insurance racket.

Re: Praise the Lord! (and Congress)

Red, my comments regarding red states is not meant to be a criticism. It is what it is. My point was that we need to get beyond the the illusions that any current political party or label gives anyone a free pass. The politcal system today works hard to pit one against the other in order to divert attention from reality. The reality is that no party has clean hands now, in the past or likely in the future. But they hope we keep arguing about it while they get theirs from their patrons. Their patrons dont happen to be us. They have never done what they said they would do if they had a chance. And they won't in the future. Why? Because the rest of us are so easily distracted by their red herring statements blaming others.

How awesome would that be?  Farming for nearly 30 years without collecting any type of subsidized crop insurance.  You feller's should thank your lucky stars you aren't impacted by drought the way the Central Plains are.  I've only been farming for about a third of that time frame and have collected more years than I haven't, and until last year I never raised any water hog crops.
