Re: Prepare for Bankruptcy

Ray, IMO you hit it on the head. With the easy money funneled to the high priced commodity farms the past few years, have we forgotten how to buckle down when the hard times return? I can remember making a living on less than $2.00 wheat, and I'm talking yields closer to 50 than 100. Not trying to point fingers or step on anyone's toes here, but ripping out that pasture and liquidating the livestock herd might have been profitable for the sprint, but maybe not for marathon. Don't you think the old timers back 50-80 years ago experienced short periods of "Easy Money" in crop production? You didn't hear about them putting all their eggs in one basket or running to the dealer to replace their entire equipment line. Diversification means extra work, but it also spreads risk.

We all complain about the Gov when things aren't going the way we think they should, but is it truly 100% their fault? Greed is an evil monster that some are afraid to admit might be hidden in their back pocket.

Re: My thinking exactly.

No that wasn't my uncles fault, it was our mother. MOTHER NATURE.
