Re: Prices Don't Stop $13,000+ farm sale

Pretty good summation of the "why"  of  the inevitable demise of socialism in those places that have tried it and found it wanting. Once you enter into a system that relies on a static size of the economic "pie" and the same system places negative incentives on thrift and hard work ( ie zero interest rates, and a medical insurance system that "taxes" those with a higher income to pay the premiums of those that don't work , or work very little.) you are not going to have very much true prosperity.

People with a couple of dimes to rub together pretty soon figure out the new game in town and grab the few hard assets around and get rid of their fiat dollars...the Chinese also are buying anything they can and stopped accumulating dollars a few years ago....they may be communist/socialists, but nobody ever said they were stupid. I have heard stories of Chinese grain reserves where the corn is going out of condition and may end up being dumped into the oceans, and  hardwood  lumber stockpiles already sunk to the bottom of deep ponds to preserve it, etc. Now they are buying seed companies, integrated hog businesses, you name it.

As the economic pie remains static, or decreases there is less "pie" for everyone within our American borders and then you have the true unrest develop. Those at the top are always going to make sure that they get theres, and without the dynamics in place to keep growing the overall "pie", the real fruits of capitalism, you make America into Greece. Obama was prematurely labeled "the food stamp president"...now we have this BS guy that actually is proud of his work in signing people up for food stamps instead of creating incentives for work.

Nor has anyone else. $13K land is the product of raw capitalism. The winners win. The losers can't even play the game.

I'd almost like to be around to see it if your deeply held opinions were translated into policy.

But not quite.

BTW, Red, as far as my observation elsewhere about children of the survivors of the great neoliberal shakeout in agriculture-  I shouldnt expect much empathy for anyone to come from people who were raised by wolves.

The range of your empathy is limited to the small group of people who are close enough to being like you that you have to embrace them or risk some sort of self awareness.

Hard...gone soft...body:

I am just not smart enough to keep up with your crazy vocabulary. You are blaming unlimited gov debt and currency creation on us fiscal conservatives? As Mike would say if he were still alive...GET_A_LIFE dude. Or, like I said, I just can't keep up.

You can try to blame everything on fiscal conservatives all you want but we haven't any political power since the 1982 elections, so I find your comments pretty baseless is real life.

I'll stand by my point, making the value of saved capital negative has supremely negative consequences, especially for the poor, both here and abroad. You are making technology way to cheap that displaces labor...it will end badly is all.
