Prices Last year near Thanksgiving

From the floor November 24, 2011

At the close:

The March corn futures settled 10 3/4 cents higher at $5.53 3/4. The Jan. soybean contract settled 16 cents higher at $12.55. The Dec. wheat futures closed 5 1/2 cents higher at $6.47 1/2.  The Dec. soymeal futures contract ended $0.50 lower at $340.20 per short ton. The Jan. soyoil futures contract finished $1.03 higher at $50.60.

We are $1.30 away from $12.55 in Soybeans.  All it takes is a couple of days ....

Re: Prices Last year near Thanksgiving

Started going up really in Jan after I returned from Argentina. From what I learned last year unless your there on the ground to see it yourself you won't know untill the damage is already done. It's all about your willingness to gamble on the reports of others. The US proved itself completely inept in forecasting soybean yields this year. So if they are so inept in their own country do you trust their ability anywhere else?

Re: Prices Last year near Thanksgiving

I may be wrong but those prices look like two years ago, not last year.
