Probably won't have a handle on the size of the corn crop
until next spring, when the last few million acres of Green Giant Golden Niblets get harvested.
Or don't.

Re: Probably won't have a handle on the size of the corn crop
It’s official now. Sprouting soil temp was over a month late last spring and killing hard frost was 5 days early in sw ks. That is over a month of growing season gone for 2019. We don’t raise average crops on any soil type on a shorter season...... even the U of ILLinois can figure that out. Then there is flooding, replanting, abandon acres, etc etc. usda is harvesting a very different crop that is not agricultural. They work with an 18 month growing season.
