Re: Record on the way
That corn still has to run the gauntlet of a river that can flood with three too many drops of water upstream.
100 feet to the south in adjoining field, corn is 12" tall. (Replant)
Lots of great looking corn in this fringe area of one of the I states.
I know it is not correct for a poster on an ag web site to NOT be always "killing the crop"
It is very rare to have as good or better looking crops than the north 2/3 of Iowa.

Re: Record on the way
FT, the standard answer is 50 bpa
Way too early to know what multiple of that to use. In years gone by I've seen from 0 to 298 showing on the electronic
gadget in the combine cab in that exact field.
At this point all that field has is potential., that is nothing that is tradeable other than top end is sill available.
Flood, hail, strong winds, drought, bugs and petulance are also still in play, feel free to trade those too. Early frost probably not in play. At this point nothing can add potential, just subtract from it.

Re: Record on the way
I have enough green snap in several fields than unless it has at least 40 rows around and 82 kernels long ears I will not be a member of the two hundred by club.

Re: Record on the way
Really dry, but did get 0.2 yesterday. Just checked weather map, dang rain, whole line of showers just formed maybe 20 miles east of me, and off it goes. At least it cooled off, only lower 80s today.

Re: Record on the way
Good looking corn and weed control too. Corn around here is a deep green color and like yours growing very fast. Our soil moisture profile is full. Check your raspberries, some are ready here and with be in their peak by weeks end.
