Remember those pictures from Argentina?
Back in February and March, remember those crop pictures from Argentina? Remember just how bad the corn crop looked down there? Never, in my wildest dreams did I think that I would see those same kind of pictures in real life on my farm here in Ohio. Well, guess what? We are dying a slow and painful death here with our crops too. If I had cattle to feed, I might just be turning them out into the corn fields.
Re: Remember those pictures from Argentina?
Turning livestock out onto the dying corn might not be a good idea due to the high level of nitrates that exist in drought stressed corn. Before considering either turning livestock out or chopping it for silage be sure to test it otherwise you will have dead livestock.
