Report day
Pretty quiet on here for a report day. My take is that it caught a few people napping.
Anyone else miss Marketeye?

Yes I do, don't feel nearly as up to date as I did when he was on here regularly

Re: Report day
I am not far away from the Dreyfus plant at Claypool,In. They have 2 mammoth storage buildings full (Rumer has it) and a covered pile outside. They are bidding +.15 & +.20 basis, seems like that should mean something

Re: Report day
Here in southern Ioway not much for piles and the ones at Creston are about gone. Basis has weakened some on corn and more on beans. Semis are running but not the lines I expected.
Maybe the reports of 40 bu beans and 80 to 125by beans were more prevalent than originally thought?
Three day vacation from markets again, time for other things and thoughts.
Especially since we survived the "BIG" report apparently unscathed.

Re: Report day
Actually a pretty good week for the markets, all in all.
Close to my sell targets for the 2022 crop...a ways to go for 2023 pricing, but I have about a three year window if I can get the 2022 crop gone for current prices or better, and ample storage. If Corn is "worth" in the $5 something for 2023 production, everything else is way out of kelter. I will clean out the bins again this year, aggressively protect 2023 margins with crop insurance revenue products, and GBS the crop.
Financial markets have rolled to a good level. I dumped a lot of money into stocks back in March and April sensing inflation was coming and not counting on a hawkish Fed, and lo and behold....with today's close am back to almost even . Funny how you can say that you are almost breaking even and feel good about it, but after losing almost a third in short order, it does feel good!
Three computer chip makers are weighing down my results, along with one consumer durable stock, and if I take those four out, I have nice gains on the composite of the others. And the big losers are coming back, so I am cautiously holding them.

Re: Report day
Ethanol plant 5 miles away is limiting dump hours because they are full, trucks lined up almost like harvest, but somehow basis is still decent.
