Climate Change in Brazil: Fire, Frost, Drought Upends Global Markets - Bloomberg
I couldn't say definitively whether deforestation is creating permanent climate shifts in SA, but many people down there are now beginning to believe it.
And increasingly here, in regards to the frequency of extreme events.
Those for whom it is inconvenient will continue to deny it, although increasingly younger people do believe that. The political problem there is that may seem to think they're stuck in a movie about a dystopian future and have no agency.
Curiously, since virtually all of that fiction is about people who do resist.

Re: SA weather cont'd.
I'll wager that the US governments War on Climate Change will be every bit as successful as the War on Poverty ('60's), the War on Drugs ('70's), and the War on Terror (00's). None of these wars have been won despite throwing trillions of dollars at them. Obviously, the problem is we haven't thrown enough money at them!!!

Let me see here if I understand you correctly,
Planet is in excess of 4,000,000,000 years old. Records you have go back 140ish years with no commas and groups of three zeros and this last blink of time is the only way it has been or should ever be?

Black Elk Speaks
The book by Black Elk.
Talks bout when the dinosaurs still wandered with the South Dak Indians in the Badlands of SoDak.
Not that long back really.
Say 350 years.
It was warm then too.
