Scott Shellady on Market to Market

Way to go Scott on explaining the changes in your job.

Darin Newsom was the guest Guru, said `market didn`t believe numbers in friendly report, that`s why it didn`t scream higher`.  Oh well, lower prices now might discourage corn planting a little.  Why do we keep having these reports agian, if no one believes them?   Smiley Happy

Re: Scott Shellady on Market to Market

Based on Nh3 tanks on the road in this area and fresh knife tracks in the fields, not sure there will be any ground left to plant beans. Got half done with the smoke here yesterday.

6.5 -7 mph 15 knife bar, ground is working ideal.

There are a few planters running in this area of SC Iowa. Cold and damp in the forecast for the next while, mine is still in the back corner of the shed.

Re: Scott Shellady on Market to Market

I think Iowa is one of the few states planning on more corn acres.  Bigshots by Titonka Smiley Wink were plowing about a week ago.  With the late winter bump of 50¢ in corn price might`ve took corn from a slight loss to a mild profit had they took advantage of it.  Don Roose was on WHO talking about the market getting a little comfortable and to keep prices fro drifting lower they will have to be shown something like planting delays or a drought on the horizon or something.

According to Accuweather in NCIA, you get to the 1st week in May and it`s off to the races, `til then pretty cool and damp.

Re: Scott Shellady on Market to Market

Here in ECIN it is still wet and has been cold. But the last 2-3 days has really warmed thing up. The first spears of asparagus are pushing through so it won't be long.
