Re: Selling the farm frenzy
20 years ago a lot of local land changed hands for $2500. The "kids" who sold, justified it in their heads "Aw, farming isn`t going anywhere, we`re only getting $150 rent. Sell the 400 acres and get $1 million!!!" . Unless, they bought the Dow index and held steady, it would only be human if they`re not a little sour on farmers these days. The Bigshot that bought it, is no doubt pleased that he turned a $2500 investment into $15,000 after 20 years.

Re: Selling the farm frenzy
Well rsbs, how could we have expected these drug induced nitwits, to be good teachers, congressmen, business managers, or even good parents? What were we thinking...... Not one free spirit of this generation was going to sacrifice for any one else in the picture(or group or generation). It is all about what is in it for me. .......... Man, lets go spit on a soldier and fake our way into a government job.

Re: Selling the farm frenzy
Bank remarketing , con-solidation , has accelerated the past 2 - 3 decades , and getting your insurance at that institution doesn't seem to be an issue - - -
Do the antics like the outfit in Washington State , & the likes of berknee madoff$ , have due cause of regulation acceleration , and if not, I'm searching for reasoning - - -
Keeping this republic - democracy, from being cannibalized with-in , is a task at hand , with greed being a major participant , along with the prey of laws gray area , being another one of the participants - - -

Re: Selling the farm frenzy
🙂 I remember Dad saying what a hell of a mess we`d have when the hippies got in charge. However, in the mid 1970s they seemed like they grew up, bought a house, regretted not going to southeast Asia to kill communists (who`d pass up a golden opportunity like that???) and voted for Reagan. But these Leftist anarchists these days never will grow up and they are currently pulling the strings on the Baby Boomer in chief who doesn`t know if he`s afoot or horseback.

Re: Selling the farm frenzy
Current clown had 5 student deferments, how the hell long can a guy have to go to school anyway? I suspect that he shared the North Vietnamese ideology as being his reason for not wanting to go shoot at them.

Re: Selling the farm frenzy
Well that used to mean property taxes are going up.......... but now property taxes are based on formula's and have grandfather clauses and vary in all sorts of ways like what kind of entity owns the land.....
So your right probably is meaningless to everyone except the child in the family that has a drug habit or a divorce waiting for probate.
But don't worry we are shifting those wealth problems over to the rich.
