Sorry Tiger

but here in NIA it didn't get nasty just a nice 8 tenths.Hell I haven't seen to many tile running yet so I think we can handle some more moisture.Guy's were running hard yesterday so I would say maybe 90% on corn here in NIA.Lot of soybeans going in also.I would say just the poor sucker driving them BLUE so called tractors and planter are the ones not done.I know we have a long road before harvest but IF weather holds it's going to be BIG as guys are putting every last $ into this crop. You need to take a 60mph tour though NIA soon and just look at all the tile put down the last 10 months.Everythings is there TIGER we just the weather now.

Its getting nasty in NIA and SMN...

Re: Sorry Tiger

A 60 mph tour wouldn't hurt you any, either. There are a lot of acres in central IA that are still unplanted. I can't see that it makes a bit of difference what color the machinery is, either. If you were drawing conclusions, it looks to me that there are a lot more unfinished acres for the green and red guys than anyone else (just simply because there are more of them in the first place)

Northern Iowa is very productive, no doubt, but central Iowa is nothing to sneeze at, either. I think other parts of the state are having delays also.

Re: Sorry Tiger

have to agree with nia. Our good soils hold 10 inches of water. We were tapped out here and have since replenished the soil to about 50%. Could easily have full moisture profile in a short amount of time. Crops going in at a record pace. Gonna be hard to kill. WC IA here.

Re: Sorry Tiger

Please enlighten us on what happened the last two years.......cause I heard it all then too, and yet somehow my take on final yields were much closer than most.......

Re: Sorry Tiger

We had 1.7 inches of rain last night in Dakota county Minnesota. Plenty wet here for now.

Re: Sorry Tiger

Tiger, some of the early planting is up and can row and stuff planted last week should be up by first of next week with the rain and heat.Yes that does make a guy a little nervous as we were so dry. With the right weather we could have knee or waist high corn by the first of June but then you drive BLUE and they are alway 10 steps behind.

Re: Sorry Tiger

Stop with the color commentary. It's not relevant what color you drive. Sounds like you guys in NIA are way behind us in central IL. Row corn? Heck. We have stuff that grew what seemed like 2" today. I guess with your logic and the "perfect" weather we will have tasseled corn on July 4 and be picking 300 bu corn August 1 for all those guys wanting 90 day corn. Problems solved.
