Re: Storm event - IA/Mn

Here in central IA we gauged .81".  Biggest rain event since May the 7th.  It will help the corn very little but some.  For the beans it will help a lot. Very thankful.  I believe this was a larger rain event than was expected.  Come Monday, might be negative for the markets.

This storm brought .81" rain

                                   48MPH wind gust.

a 5.49" [per hour] high rain rate.

WIND

Re: Storm event - IA/Mn

Sunday night should tell the tale....looks like all of MN got some rain and parts of the neighboring states, too. My farms in south central MN got right around an inch on average. Two weeks ago we had another inch plus, and a couple of quarter to half inch rains in between. Timely rains and well appreciated by the thirsty plants. Lots of brown corn, though. I think the corn has to be cooked in a lot of fields not far from here, those that missed those earlier rains.
