Sunday night opening guesses

My services are calling 5 cents lower beans and 1 penny lower corn. So much for the great white hope to unload grain from the bins and in the field.

Re: Sunday night opening guesses

So much also for your big gap down prediction from last week. If your big brain and great predicting ability failed this one small test, then why should anyone listen to what you're saying. It's obvious to me, you're guessing, and just helping to try to steal crops from farmers. Go away....use your big brain for the benefit mankind, instead of trying to screw them.

Re: Sunday night opening guesses

I've been here far a long time - and longer than my sign in date shows, because of what happened when they redid the site several years ago. I post on no other sites, I use no social media other than this. I sold my farm last year, having been involved with Agriculture most of my life. I've proven time and time again who I am on this site, say where I live and I don't come on here wearing a mask because I don't want someone to find me. My story has never changed, my reason for being here has never changed or wavered. I am not a fan of our marketing system at this time. I think it's an antiquated system that exploits many, including the consumer, to line the pockets of a few. And I take my shots for that - and I'm good with that.

For me, I'd be in favor of full disclosure on this site. If you want in, you disclose what your tie is to Ag, your real address, phone number, name, and cut the BS.

I'm real - I tell it like I see it, I have no stake I in the market. I get lots of comments from farmers that like what I write, and they read it every day. If you don't like what I write, then don't read it. It's as simple as that.

Re: Sunday night opening guesses

As far as VR goes, he's proven nothing other than the fact that he didn't get kicked off the other site because he was a bear.

He comes on here a few weeks ago, gets someone to give him a bunch of bogus Kudos the way it looks to me, sets himself up as this self proclaimed Marketing Genius, but fails the test of his marketing prowess the first time he's tested. He's a bear trying to talk the market down with no real regard as to what's really going input in the country. That's why he got booted, and why he's ruffling feathers here now.

Sure, I stir the pot, because of things I seen and experienced. From what I see, he's just here to blow a big horn (his own) and doesn't give one hoot about agriculture or farmers, other than himself - if he even is one.

Market opening:  Yawn  Smiley Happy

As for the bickering, if you don't like someones posting - then don't read it.

Like Mom always said "if you don't have anything nice to say, then say nothing at all".

Bottom line.  BE NICE!

Thank you.

Re: Sunday night opening guesses

It's not about being right or being wrong, it's how we conduct ourselves along the way.  We've all been right and wrong in different situations including and excluding marketing.  Bringing a deadhorse to the table each and every day does nothing for anyone at this point.  Continually bashing one another is a sure fire way to kill this site, and I for one would hate to see that happen.  I've met numerous people because of this site of which none I've spoken with face to face, but that doesn't stop me from calling them friends.

Re: Sunday night opening guesses

Jen, I like what you write about the weather. You have been very good on that all summer. As far as your opinions on the markets you seem too conspiratorial to me. We are in a commodity market. Commodities are homogeneous. Corn is corn is corn thus we are price takers because it is a commodity. You have to further process is to add value which few of us do but those who buy from us do add value and they deserve larger margins  as they take the risk. The further up the food chain the more they make per unit and the smaller the units get. They deserve that. We as farmers can earn the highest cash price paid at the time of sale fob'd back to our location. We can also earn the storage and merchandising money that the commercials earn if we are willing to dry, store, hedge and merchandise our product. Some of us do and others don't. Farmers havn't needed to be merchandisers for 6 years now but those days are over it seems.

There is no way any single or group of people can talk a market down on a marketing forum when dealing with a 14 billion bushel commodity. VR has been a bear all year and has been correct. He is abrasive, don't know why he choses that style, but he has been correct. He is saying that this is going down further and he is probably correct. If you were Cargill or ADM, or Bunge, or Tyson, or any ethanol plant would you step forward and buy your needs now with 15 billion bushels staring you in the face?  or would you buy hand to mouth and let the system get plugged full and running over and then step in and buy. This in fact is the greatest system of grain marketing in the world with the most individual freedom for producers. Whether a producer choses to use it to his advantage is his decision. That is what has, is, and will continue to make this country great. jmo

Re: Sunday night opening guesses

I gave vr a lot of kudos because I was sick and tired of vr posting something relevant and then someone coming along with some "clever" one liner and getting a kudo for something totally non marketing. That pisses me off to no end to see people attack, then he attacks back and nobody learns the lesson. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it. Unfortunately people are getting Kudos not for marketing ideas but for jackass remarks and getting emotional. Bring it back to marketing.

You guys just don't like bears. I've posted very price negative stuff and get 0 replies and seen the perma bulls put threads up with many replies.

There is too much group think... Most people are bulls round here and you hang or ignore people who are contrary.

I think at this point jenny is more likely to waver than vrbuck... Buck has been throwing sarcasm in like he don't care... Jenny is super defensive at this point and defends against it as if he's serious sometimes.

Usually, it all starts with mts crap and it becomes very personal after that
