TID BITS

It has been mentioned before about depleted water levels in central South America's hydro electric power dams.

Going critical shortly...

"Brazil’s electricity regulator expects virtually all energy resources depleted by November
The increase in the load forecast occurred after an increase in the activities of commerce and services, as well as the maintenance of the high pace of industrial production.

By The Rio Times - July 23, 2021
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil's National Electric System Operator (ONS) raised a new alert about the challenges Brazil's electricity sector is facing this year due to the severe water crisis in the country's hydroelectric reservoirs, projecting a depletion of virtually all energy resources by November.

The warning came after the agency raised the load forecast and considered a lower and more "realistic" thermal availability to meet demand for energy, according to a technical note published Thursday night July 22."

We in this country are rapidly approaching the same thing in the southwestern states.

Too many people with too large of demands for water in a dessert.

Even the Anazasi got droughted out about 800 years ago. Extended dry periods are nothing new or man made.

Re: TID BITS

Oh darn.

Here in Ioway the governor has been extending weight limits on trucks an extra 12.5% on state and county roads since the covid thing started. Been a one month at a time thing, used to just be a harvest time thing.

Gonna have to try to remember to "short load it" again.

Guess it sounds more impressive to say I've got 12 loads to haul when last week same amount was a 10 load job.

Re: TID BITS

Finally???

Feels like we have a slight tail breeze.

Maybe the beginning of a true weather market.

Seven dollar cash corn is in play again. Or at least possible.

Contemplating getting the majority of next year's herbicides acquired.

Get a jump on "we just want our share" price increases.

With interest rates at less than 1% , cost of carry is negligible.

Re: TID BITS

I`m wondering if the latest drop wasn`t a Bear Trap and the harvest lows came a little early?   Just the market trying to scare oldman Ostrander into tapping into his government bins.  I think months from now when there`s 20/20 hindsight and higher prices it`ll be a "duh moment" where we say "well, they did say as tight as stocks were we needed every bushel off every acre".

Corn killed  in the milk stage isn't grain.

Is the northern hemisphere gonna follow along and have early frosts/freeze too?

Been awhile but has and can happen.

Yep interesting times indeed.
