Re: Thanks Mizzou_

Your drive home looked like mine..... my little truck got washed off the road twice shutting irrig sprinklers off.  2 to 4 inches hard and with wind... we must have been on the west end of your storm...

I wonder why you can show a picture of a rainstorm but they took your cool moon/eagle picture down.    Jackwagons!

Re: Thanks Mizzou_

Great pics Ken. Thanks for sharing.

A few of our farms are in the Ark building phase (closer to Kokomo) 8" in 3 weeks. Luckily the bulk of the farms right around home have been in the "thank goodness that one missed us" mode with a near perfect 4" in the last 4 weeks. Streaky to say the least.

What was your total in this event? Any damage other than ponding? TIA

Re: Thanks Mizzou_

Yea, these gut washing rains seems to be spreading out.

Don't feel bad, we keep getting hammered too. It hasn't stopped. My replanted corn had water on it 24 hours after the planter left the field.

Thursday night tore more stuff up

PP meetings being set up or have already happened everywhere

Talked with 2 agents and 1adjuster in the last week

The amount of PP that will come out of MO will be shocking. Close to 2-3M. Throw in some from KS, IA, NE and it's huge. Easily get 4-6M on the national stage.

I don't think people outside this area comprehend the destruction. I'm smack dab in the middle of it and I can't even get my head around it.

The old timers that have lived on this tough ole hill ground and chopped up creek bottoms are making comments like "I've only seen it this high one other time" or "I've never seen water comes across this field like that" or "water has never gone over this road" or "I've never seen it this bad"

Probably close to 1M corn acres too. Maybe 2M nation wide.

12.2B corn crop and a 3.2B bean crop. What's that do to prices?

I have been there in 93.  I know this doesn't meen anything but northern iowa and southern minnesota had the same thing happen to it 2 years ago and it didn't matter.

Re: Thanks Mizzou_

Ecin,

Here is my take on the eagle......

It is a great entry...... I assumed it was moved "for" you ......... and I assume that somebody in management wants to see the "forum" be a more interesting place, maybe a little less embarassing.  It is a great start.  There are few things I will go there for but had to read when I saw your label there......

Sometimes I believe things about management that are more hope than reality...... Havve a great weekend in Indiana..
