The Best and Worst of 2017
Here's a quick look back at the performers and non-performers in the commodity world. Bloomberg compiled a short list of how things played out, this year.
A Look Back
Aluminum did the best, up 33%. Copper jumped 31% on the year.
Second best was the cattle market, up 22%, and hogs gained 11% on the year.
Where do corn and soybeans fall in line? Unfortunately, you have to wait for those to appear.
Natural gas was the worst performing commodity. It dropped 22% loss.
Soybeans fell 3% this year and corn and wheat both fell 9%. Corn could finish lower for the fifth straight year.
Separately, Reuters is reporting that the most active wheat futures on the Chicago Board Of
Trade are set to finish the year up about 4.5 percent, the
first annual gain since 2012.
What say you?

giolucas,
You certainly could make an argument for that one. How's basis in your neighborhood, right now?
