Re: The Frost line

Fingers crossed it doesn’t push, need a good few weeks here yet.  Indian summer never sounded so good.   Good luck out there fellas we are going to need it looking forward. Hello markets limit up anytime!!

Re: The Frost line

some.

Might need to see the next few runs to see how far it pushed east.

There are a lot (can't quantify) of corn fields that will lose some DM accumulation with a frost in that timeframe.

Beans not so much- a lot of those bitty ones are already turning and in some places dry has already done frost's job.

Re: The Frost line

Not sure how they did, but these farmers cut soybeans, today (September 25) in the northcentral Iowa town of Thompson. Take a look.

Re: The Frost line

I'm surprised that they are running so early. But, they are probably worried about the colder temps coming.

Re: The Frost line

With beans -- warm weather and thunderstorms always make me nervous.... so much damage can be done so fast.

Like the Pratt Ks area yesterday harvest ended quickly.

In no particular hurry

Beans in every stage here in southern Ioway.

I planted beans on the 12th, 16th, and 20th of June.

They are three feet tall and still a nice deep Oliver green.

Three of the fields were planted on failed corn ground with 150#s of nh 3

Two weeks ago the pods were as flat as typing paper. They are filling nicely but only one more sunny day then rain and clouds turning cool. May need to go give them a pep talk, 4th quarter two minute warning, down by two...

Majority of fields are turning in this area but still quite a few fields just like mine...

Re: The Frost line

There was just a pocket by Thompson that was dry, not many miles either direction it rained Tuesday/Wednesday night and yesterday cloudy.   Swea City and west old drown outs in fields had a little water standing.  Everyone`s anxious to pump barns and need a place to haul,  so some fields of early 1`s are planted.
