Re: This year compared to last

Had more rain last year by this time.

Had twice as much last year in July.

Cooler temps and few windy days this year is helping

but not for much longer. NW IA.

Re: This year compared to last

Your part of Central Mo did way better than mine last year. My corn averaged 40 last year, anywhere from 20-60 field average. Had no rain at all until September here. Feeling better this year, had 2" of rain monday morning. Have corn that didn't pollinate real well in spots but still better than last year.  Patrick

Re: This year compared to last

As long as something crazy doesn't happen between now and harvest, my corn should yield close to 100 bushel an acre more than last year. Last year we went 72 consecutive days during the heart of the growing season without measurable rainfall, and 90-100 degree temps and high winds.

Re: This year compared to last

Last year my worst corn made .41 bales per acre. My best corn was left in the bag. ROTF
