Re: Tid bits

It`s too late to be "early" anymore.   There ain`t even any oats seeded around here and won`t be until May.

Re: Tid bits

Haven`t been much south of highway 20 lately, took fertilizer to a guy by Waterloo Thursday.  He could spread on cover crops but too wet and frost coming out else where and we unloaded on the road.  "prairie potholes" full in most of supposed "droughty" South Dakota.   Other than manure spreading basically not a wheel turned in the north country.   Forecast not exactly drying weather.

Re: Tid bits

Looks like the best chance for a good Kansas rain in a long time forecast for Friday night.  Had 1.14"of precipitation over the past few days, rain, hail, sleet and snow.  Cold temps down to 23* tonight and tomorrow night.  Highs only in the 50's this week and some more rain.  A window for planting corn has not opened yet.  Central IA.

Re: Tid bits

Since January we have been blessed with thousands of robins

They have really thickened up, fifty to hundreds of them every where.

Don't ever remember anywhere near this many ever.

Anybody have any old wives tales about this.

Re: Tid bits

Not an old wives tale but the robins here were looking pretty miserable Saturday in 10 inches of snow, 27 degrees, and 35 mph wind.  Maybe they went part way back south.  Another 5 to 7 on tap for Tuesday night and Wednesday.  SWMN.
