Marketing------- absolutely right I shouldn't let it slide by(was thinking about production issues and that is a different issue). If you raised anything to sell or saved anything from last year there hasn't been a better marketing opportunity for grains in my "short" life. Well, lets face it there's a chance we may look back and see 2012 as a pretty good opportunity to set a beginning bar for 2013.
Looking back I owe you a little thanks, (a small one but important). I have a tendency to focus pretty intently on my issues and when i relax, might even enjoy a little solitude. The boss says "to extreme". --------------- You often reference your observations on a drive about. I know often that is just a parts trip, but it points out something my dad did with regulatity. We all knew the warning------- if you get in with him, hell knows when you'll get home! :)--- point is, getting out and renewing our perspective on the world and our place in it, is just a good thing to do every chance you get. And we get that chance more often than we think, if we are paying attention. Whether we are in a back office of a remote shop, a tractor seat, or an office in chicago(or houston), we can get a distorted perspective concentrating on our own issues all the time. Decisions on more than just marketing get easier the better we see the "big" picture.
Now that we know God isn't a Mayan, we can enjoy finishing out a tough and interesting year.
Fact is we are all pretty fortunate to be involved in an industry that provides basic needs for the world. And to live at a time when everything from seed to ship is amazingly interesting.
